The Shaker Heights Arts & Music Festival
My usual thing is cultural
festivals. Greek, German, Romanian, Russian and the like. But Ive
been to some events held by the Shaker Height Arts Council and
greatly enjoyed myself, so I figured what the heck. It was a rainy
day, and that drew away from some of the festivities, but there were
a lot of local artists and a wine maker that made the day very
enjoyable. So I worked my way through the muddy paths which they had laid large pieces of cardboard over. I felt awful for the vendors not right on the main walk.
I'm usually not a big fan of
jewelry, just not. I don't like wearing it and I dont like women who
over indulge in it. So most of that stuff bored me. Couple really interesting print guys. One guy was selling posters of Cleveland Sports team most people have never heard of. Like the Cleveland team that won the National Basketball League title in 1924. Cool stuff.
There was a great lady who is
opening and Urban Winery who had some decent Rose, but some amazing
Pineapple Lemonade. Well worth the $4 I paid for it. She is opening in Chagrin at some point and Ill try her place out when it opens.
The music was OK, essentially local
groups who have been playing around town for years and now entertain
the 50+ Crowds. Cats on Holiday are close to 20 years in, and still
quite good.
I doubt Ill make the drive last
year. But it was entertaining
